The department of psychology aims at providing critical practical and analytical training at the undergraduate, post graduate and Ph.D. level that enables students to further engage in the domains of mental health, neuroscience, forensics, rehabilitation, defense, prisons, government and nonprofit organizations. The program’s curriculum has more of application-oriented learning and the curriculum mainly stresses on the mastery of basic principles of psychological principles and theories. 

The department of psychology emphasises on research-based teaching and learning, competency based learning and interdisciplinary in approach.
