The School of Social Sciences consists of five departments that come together to offer students a comprehensive education in Social Sciences.

Department of Public Policy

The department of Public Policy is designated to create motivated, energetic, and creative professionals to fill the roles as policy analysts, policy makers, policy specialists, communication personnel, program analysts, consultants, teachers, professors and researchers with enhanced qualification and training.

Department of Data Sciences

The department of data sciences offers programmes that aim at providing critical analytical training at the undergraduate, diploma and Ph.D. level. The department of data sciences emphasises on research-based teaching and learning, competency based learning and interdisciplinary in approach.

Department of Economics

The department of Economics offers undergraduate and post graduate program, which aims at providing critical analytical training to enable students to further engage in the domains of international and domestic banking, consulting firms, government, and non-profit organizations. The program’s curriculum has more of application-oriented learning, learner centric pedagogy, research driven curriculum which mainly focus on the mastery of basic principles, advanced concepts, developments, and techniques in the domain of economics.

Department of Psychology

The department of psychology aims at providing critical practical and analytical training at the undergraduate, post graduate and Ph.D. level that enables students to further engage in the domains of mental health, neuroscience, forensics, rehabilitation, defense, prisons, government and nonprofit organizations. The program’s curriculum has more of application-oriented learning and the curriculum mainly stresses on the mastery of basic principles of psychological principles and theories.

Department of Sociology

The department of sociology offers undergraduate and postgraduate program, which aims at providing critical analytical training to enable students to analyze specific social problems in both public and private sectors at group and individual levels. The program’s curriculum is centred around application-oriented learning, learner-centric pedagogy, research-driven curriculum, which mainly focus on the mastery of basic principles, advanced concepts, developments, and techniques in the domain of sociology.
